Finding Violet Park by Jenny Valentine

Finding Violet Park by Jenny Valentine

Another really good read. It sounds like fantasy (oh, no not another one!) what with the ashes of the dead Violet Park communicating mysteriously with the boy protagonist, Lucas Swain, but it isn't so much fantasy as mystery linked to personal/human situations and relationships. It's the ultimate good read that ends up where the protagonist ends up understanding himself and the people that surround him better. As does the reader perhaps. Everything ties up quite nicely.

Quite easy reading - normal, boys and girls. Age 13 to 14? Recommended.

Down the Rabbit Hole

Down the Rabbit Hole by Peter Abrahams.
I really enjoyed this book. It didn't take long before I was completely gripped by the detective story but also by the protagonist, a girl that is refreshingly intrepid but in a normal sort of way. As most girls are. I thoroughly enjoyed the way that the Alice in Wonderland story was sort of brought in, although the novel isn't poetic at all, just a really good adventure and detective story. It even has a dog in it! What more could I ask for.

I'd definitely recommend this book ofr 11-15s and 42s. I read it an a day. Quite easy test and riveting story. Boys and girls
