Year 8's visit to Hay Festival in Segovia

On Thursday we went to Hay Festival in Segovia and it turned out to be very interesting. We went to visit Michelle Paver, an author whose most prestigious books are "The Chronicles of Ancient Darkness". This series is set in prehistoric times. Twelve year old Torak discovers the secrets of his dead father thoughout the book. Michelle Paver told us about how she became inspired to write her books, how she tried living like Torak when she was small, she even gave up sleeping in her bed to sleep on the floor, and she also explained in detail her encounter with a bear and how she swam with killer whales and seals. She also showed us some of the clothes and weapons Torak uses throughout the saga.
In conclusion, Michelle Paver explained all we wanted to know about her books and her animal-loving character.
There is an article about our visit in The Telegraph. They say we were a very entertaining audience! Click here to read it.
